Family Therapy

Family therapy includes any combination of members of a family system. Participants in family counseling can be parents and children, step-parents and step-siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles, non-relative caregivers and children. Family therapy is beneficial for those who seek more peace in the home, and it can help you to obtain the family relationships you desire.

Family therapists will work together to reconnect, harness and strengthen existing resources, build rapport, strengthen communication, change perceptions, and manage anxiety to help your family heal. Our therapists use a family-systems perspective to understand family history, communication patterns, and dynamics to see the bigger picture of the presenting problem and develop strategies for long-term improvement.

Family therapy can be useful with:

Family situation that causes stress, grief, anger or conflict

School issues

Mental, behavioral, or physical illness of a family member

Loss of a family member

Sibling rivalry

Dissatisfaction or dissolution in marriage

Changes within a blended family

Conduct disorders

Substance abuse

Eating disorders

Mood disorders

Trauma recovery
