Melissa Mercado
I strive to help children and adults feel heard and understood while providing a space for growth
and self-discovery. I am drawn to person-centered, collaborative approaches because it creates a foundation for building trust along with empowering individuals throughout their therapeutic journeys.
From my previous experiences working with children on the autism spectrum, it has been
ingrained in me that all behavior is communication. Using play as a tool, children are able to learn emotional, behavioral, and social skills in a way that is natural for them. I aim to help children and families understand, manage, and resolve emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
I am also dedicated to providing a safe, affirming, and welcoming space to all walks of life, honoring the intersectional identities that impact your life’s story - including but not limited to race, gender identity, sexual orientation, and faith.
