Ashley Toussaint

I completed my Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Saint Thomas. I am currently working toward licensure through the state of Minnesota as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of Sarah Coleman MA, LMFT, RPT-S.

My background includes six years of working with adults with disabilities, two years of community based mental health services with adults (ARMHS) and children and their families (CTSS). The past year and a half I have worked in Minneapolis Public Schools as a school-based therapist for children grades K-5, while also seeing some teens and pre-teens in an outpatient clinic setting.

After becoming a mother, I have developed a strong interest in supporting mothers in this very important role, especially new mothers navigating this new identity. As someone who is also in an interracial relationship and mother to a biracial child, I have a special interest in supporting others as they face the unique challenges and beauties that come along with these relationships. I find great joy in working with pre-teens and teens as well, and have experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, and self-esteem.
